About
My name, or rather the name I began using when I was 16, is Mekenzie. I’m a storyteller, a recluse with a spirit for adventure.
I live just over the Mississippi state line in rural Alabama. I refer to my surroundings as Dogtown, a fictional but all too real town that’s home to some of the most beautiful wildlife and some of the nastiest, most heartless people. Whoever coined the term “southern hospitality” has never been to Dogtown.
Things aren’t all bad, though. Company is split between our many dogs and cats on the 1.5 acre “farm” we share. I wake to the sounds of tractors and fall asleep to the sound of baying cows. The infinite amount of alone time breeds the desire to read whatever is available which in turn breeds the desire to write. I work for myself, when I want and – one day – where I want, and even though it’s barely enough to cover hosting for this site, I’m proud to say I earned it.
